These items are planned or experimental and are not part of the public production promise yet.

Local gateway / Pi server

Local server (roadmap) gateways, private local servers and federation remain development paths. Public production builds use the global server plus phone BLE tether or node Wi-Fi uplink.

Alternate firmware / alternate firmware roadmap

Alternate firmware roadmap with other mesh firmware is kept as a future roadmap item. Public docs and the web flasher now describe Mode-X Mesh-only flashing until alternate firmware roadmap is stable enough for normal users.

User accounts and 2FA

The server now has disabled groundwork for future web user registration and two-factor authentication. Admin-only configuration remains the only live path for Mailbox, Noticeboard, Guardian and Checkpoint node functions.

v38.16 admin functions

Admin-configured Mailbox, Noticeboard, Guardian and Checkpoint functions now queue a device order. Firmware consumes that order, updates the node role, emits a local app event and sends a short local radio notice for supported function types. Public user registration and 2FA remain disabled until launch.
